Sister City Project

The Carlentini, Sicily Omaha Sister City Project is is sponsored by the three Italian groups in Omaha.
They are: Sons of Italy, The Santa Lucia Festival Committee and the American Italian Heritage Society.

We need your help in bringing the Mayor of Carlentini, Sicily, Guiseppe Stefio, Vice-Mayor Salvatore La Rosa, and the Omaha-Carlentini Sister City application counterparts, Eleonora and Federica Formica. They will be guests of honor at the 97th Annual Santa Lucia Festival in July 2021.
The delegates will meet the Italian-American community members and tour some of Omaha's outstanding attractions, including "Little Italy."  Eleonora and Federica will also be performing with Omaha's own Carmelita de la Guardia to provide music entertainment at various times during the Festival.
The purpose of this project is to defray costs associated with travel expenses to Omaha.  The bridge across the Atlantic will help the Italian heritage in Omaha and enrich future cultural generations of Americans with Italian ancestry.  When recognizing the formal sister city relationship, Carlentini and Omaha's entire communities will take advantage and bring economic, artistic and cultural benefits.
Please consider making a donation to Sons of Italy through ShareOmaha to help this worthy project.

Here’s How!
Many of you remember the fundraising organization for non-profits named Omaha Gives.  It was where people could donate to non-profits, one day each year.
After 8 years, and raising $58 million raised for Omaha-Council Bluffs nonprofits, Omaha Gives has ended.
Omaha now has, ShareOmaha which will be used as a fundraiser for non-profits.
What if Omaha gave together for more than one day?
Introducing Do Good Week, April 19-24, 2021 - Five days dedicated to meeting a wider variety of needs in our community, followed by a day of celebration. Sons of Italy, Omaha will be part of this fundraising effort to help finance our projects. Help us by going to shareomaha.org. This link will take you directly to ShareOmaha.org Sons of Italy.
